Which way to Mecca?

I have made it from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 ... progress!

The terminal is full of Afghan workers who probably live in Dubai the majority of the time and periodically go home to take money to their families.  You can usually tell them by their traditional Afghan clothes, rough hands and they are usually the ones sleeping around on the floor.  I sometimes wonder what the economy here in Dubai would do without international workers and why they are not more appreciative of them.  The service industry is full of workers from the Philippines, Iran, Somalia, Ghana, India ... I don't think there are many (if any) UAE born residents that work these types of jobs.  I have a soft spot for them - will you take a minute to pray for them?  Maybe their countries are closed to the gospel - and God brought them here to hear the good news, pray for the workers here that have come for that purpose.  Please pray for the church that is present here...that their outreach efforts would be effective.

As i sit here and type,  I also notice the military men who have been on leave ... heading back to work.  They are kind to those around them and have a sense of camaraderie with the others they travel with.  Will you pray for them and their families.

Another group of travelers are women, many dressed all in black, their faces covered.  I just overheard one ask an airport worker, "which way to mecca?"  Now that is something you don't hear every day.  She wanted to pray and Muslims pray facing Mecca.  As she prays with such devotion, I pray for her to find the the one true God... will you also pray that those who have not had a chance to hear, who daily point to Mecca to pray - would find the God of the heavenley's that wants them to come to Him.

More soon from Kabul ... hopefully! :-)

mftglbeTina,
Hope you have made it to Kabul. As I read your post I couldn't help but ponder on your title, "which way to Mecca?" that you overheard the Muslim lady ask. I do pray that she and all Muslims will one day have an encounter with the One and Only True God, and know that no matter where they are, where ever we are, we only need lift our eyes to the Lord knowing it's in the "right direction". Blessings to you! J2 :-)
