Alfred Hitchcock in Dubai??

Well, things rarely turn out how we planned them.  If they did, I would be writing this from Kabul - but I am still in Dubai.  The flight to Kabul was cancelled yesterday... the reason, "I think weather" ... after many years of traveling, I am amazed at how surprised I am when this happens.  Wakil said he could see for 100 miles - they did not have bad weather... oh well.

The airport in Dubai is pretty nice.  It has won awards for how enticing their shops are and how extravagant the displays are within the terminal.  Jody and I have come to LOVE duty free here - but today I was too tired to wander around.  Thankfully they had a room at the airport hotel.  It is super nice ... the softest pillows ever!  I was worn out after dragging my carryon, backpack and winter coat through security a hundred times during the delays before they actually cancelled the flight.  After 12 hours of sleep - and a chance to watch Rear Window on tv  (one of my families all time favs) ... I am back in line, hoping the flight will go out on time.  It is 9 pm Louisville time and 6 am Dubai time.

We'll see where the next posting comes from...
